INTRODUCTION
The SheROX Tempe Women's Triathlon takes place in Tempe, AZ at Tempe Beach Park, home of the Ford Ironman Arizona and Soma Triathlon!  The SheROXTempe Women's Triathlon is a WOMEN's only triathlon designed just for women on Mother's Day weekend. 

RACE FEATURES

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
This is sprint distance triathlon, consisting of a swim, bike, and run (in that order).  All participants start at Tempe Beach Park, on the south bank, just west of the Mill Avenue Bridge.

Sprint Course - A calm 750 meter swim in Tempe Town Lake.  Water temperatures will be approximately 68-72 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended.  The bike portion is a relatively flat, urban course, consisting of 2 loops of approximately 6.75 miles per loop.  The run is a 3.1 mile loop around Tempe Town Lake with some great views of ASU and the developing landscape of Tempe!

Weather - historical weather has high temperatures in the mid 70's to high 80's. Lows around this date are typically in the mid 60's to mid 70's.

REGISTRATION - ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES MAY 5 @ 11:59 Pacific
Register in person - at Packet Pickup on Friday May 7 from 12p until 7p at Tempe Beach Park.  Bring your picture ID, USAT card (if available) and cash, check or credit.

RACE DIVISIONS

Age Group Division
This is the division where most participants register.  Age groups are broken down into 5-year increments, based on your age as of December 31, 2010.

Elite Amateur Division
The Open Division is designed to enable fast amateur triathletes to start near the front of the race.
In order to compete in the Open Division, you must provide:

  • Proof of a top ten overall women's finish at a USAT sanctioned event in 2007, 2008, 2009 or 2010.
Open Division athletes are not be eligible for age-group awards.

Buddy Wave Division
If you want to complete the race with another participant who is NOT in your age group (mom, sister, friend etc) the Buddy Wave is for you!  The Buddy Wave will be the last wave.
Buddy Wave athletes are not eligible for awards.

Elite Pro Division
In order to compete in this wave you must provide the following:

  • Proof of USAT Elite Membership
  • Proof of Professional Status

Elite Division athletes are not eligible for age-group awards.

Relay Teams
Relay teams consist of two or three members.  For 2-person teams, one person must do two of the legs.  For 3-person teams, each person does one leg.  Form mother/daughter teams, teams with members of your book club, your old college roommates or other women you work with...or create your own theme!  All relay members must register and sign the waiver.

12:00pm - 7:00pm:  Registration and Packet Pickup, RACK YOUR BIKE at Tempe Beach Park.  We will have security overnight!
12:00pm - 7:00pm:  Expo at Tempe Beach Park!

Saturday May 8, 2010
7:00am - Race Begins
10:30am - Awards begin at Tempe Beach Park

DIRECTIONS / PARKING
Parking is available (limited) for athletes in the US Airways parking garage on Saturday. Once the garage is full you will need to park on city streets OR at other parking logs near Rio Salado and Mill Avenue. Additional directions to the venue can be found here.
